Our Philosophy
Step inside and leave the world behind. You are now part of a story that began in 1930. We have meticulously restored this residence to offer you a unique blend of heritage charm and modern indulgence.
The inspiration for our logo and identity comes from the very floors of this house. We have carefully preserved the original vintage tiles in the Master bedroom, honoring the artistry and history that make this standalone home so unique.

Our identity is rooted in the very floors you walk on. In the Master bedroom, we have meticulously preserved the original, vintage floor tiles. This stunning architectural detail not only holds the echoes of the past but also inspired the very design of the VAVA logo.
To make your stay as comfortable as possible, our house features 4 bedrooms with flexible sleeping options. Depending on your needs, the beds are arranged as follows:
- Option 1: 3 Double Beds + 1 Single Bed
- Option 2: 2 Double Beds + 3 Single Beds
All our beds are prepared with premium linens to ensure you have a relaxing sleep during your stay at VAVA.
The 'Hagiati' experience
Experience a true piece of local architecture in our signature bedroom, featuring a traditional 'hagiati', a charming, enclosed wooden bedroom. Bathed in natural light, it is the perfect, tranquil nook to enjoy your morning coffee on the bed or lose yourself in a good book.

Preserving the essence of the kitchen
Some things are too beautiful to change. To maintain the authentic character of the house, we chose a unique path: we carefully removed the original kitchen and crafted a faithful recreation in its place.
The house features a fully equipped main kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and coffee machine, complete with all necessary dinnerware. For your convenience while enjoying the outdoors, there is an additional rooftop kitchenette featuring a small fridge, a sink, and a dedicated set of dishes and cutlery. This allows you to prepare your drinks or snacks on the terrace without having to go downstairs

High above the city, this expansive room offers plenty of space to breathe and relax. It is designed to adapt to your needs, whether you prefer a double bed or a twin setup. Along with its private bathroom, you’ll find a thoughtful kitchenette featuring a true piece of local history: the original 'skafi'. Long before modern washing machines, this basin was the heart of the Cretan home's laundry day. We’ve preserved it as a unique sink, keeping the home's original soul alive in a contemporary setting.
The rooftop is your private urban retreat, designed for seamless outdoor living. It features a practical kitchenette with a small fridge, a sink, and its own set of dinnerware, so everything you need is right at hand. Whether you are sharing a meal at the dining table or lounging on the outdoor sofa, it is the perfect spot to soak in the Mediterranean breeze and the historic atmosphere of Heraklion.

Our check-in time starts at 15:00, but we always strive to have your sanctuary ready for you as soon as possible.
CHECK-OUT
11 am. Should you wish to extend your stay beyond 11:00 AM, please contact us in advance. We will do our very best to accommodate your request, depending on the availability and our schedule for the day.

Please note that VAVA does not offer private parking on the premises. However, your convenience is our priority! There is a private, secure parking lot located just 10 meters away from our entrance.
